Hi All,
I wanted to thank you for reading the article posted by the International Hyperhidrosis Society this week! This article has been a very positive experience for me and I feel like it connected the HH community even more!
Thank you for your emails, comments and supportive words. Reading through all of your messages has been very powerful and emotional.
I identify with you all your stories and am just like you- trying to live as “normal” of a life as I can with HH.
Please continue to be strong and have the courage to tell someone new about your HH today. We can all get through this together.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend and stay cool! 🙂
Best,
Caryn
So nice to meet (so to speek) someone like me. I sweat exactly like you and I have also considered surgery. I even thought about going to Texas where they so a micro ETS surgery (no lung collapsing etc). I have never done anything except the drysol which did not work. I am going to read through your blog to see what you have tried and see what has worked for you. I need something. I have never had the money to do botox or anything else till now. Id love to try some sort of treatment. Today I sat in my sons school conference room for a meeting and held my sweater on my lap in hand to wipe the gallons of sweat. Thank goodness no hand shaking was involved. That freaks me out. But I know them all already so it was casual. But what I would do to not sweat. UGH
Nice to meet you too! I have never heard of this micro ETS surgery- I’m going to look into that. Thank you for posting about that! My fear with ETS was the lung collapsing, so this may be something to consider- although Compensatory Sweating is still a risk.
Maybe you should look in to Glycopyrrolate (Robinol). It is a pill you take twice a day, and it worked pretty well for me for a long time. Since then, I have had some complications, but you can read about that in some of my entries.
The other day, I held on to my scarf in a meeting just so soak up sweat. I hate feeling so anxious that my sweat will be discovered. Good luck with everything and keep in touch!
Best,
Caryn
Sorry I never saw your reply till now. I am so happy that you are having luck with your new treatment. I am wondering how I get my hot hands on one too. I think I need to try something. As I sit here typing, wiping the sweat off my feet on towel I had under my desk. I will keep in touch. I am excited to hear how your treatment lasts.
